ট্রেনের নীচে কাঁটা পড়ে মৌলভীবাজারের কুলাউড়া উপজেলার ব্রাহ্মণবাজার ইউনিয়নের সেলিম মিয়া (৪৭) নামে এব ব্যক্তির মর্মান্তিক মৃত্যু ঘটেছে। নিহত সেলিম উপজেলার ব্রাহ্মণবাজার ইউনিয়ন পরিষদের সাবেক মেম্বার মরহুম আব্দুল হামিদ (চাঁন মিয়া) ৪র্থ ছেলে।
পরিবারিক সূত্রের বরাতে জানা যায়, সেলিম রোববার ১৭ই আগস্ট বিকেলে মাইজগাঁও ইউনিয়নের কায়স্থগ্রাম নিজ বাসা থেকে নামাজের উদ্দেশ্যে রওয়ানা দিয়ে রেললাইন ক্রস করে যাচ্ছিলেন। এসময় ঢাকা থেকে ছেঁড়ে আসা সিলেটগামী জয়ন্তিকা আন্তঃনগর এক্সপ্রেস ট্রেনের নীচে তিনি কাঁটা পড়ে ঘটনাস্থলেই মৃত্যুবরণ করেন। সেলিম দীর্ঘদিন থেকে ওই জায়গায় বাসা ভাড়া নিয়ে বসবাস করে আসছেন। তার লাশ বর্তমানে ব্রাহ্মণবাজার রাজাপুর গ্রামে নিয়ে আসা হয়েছে। আইনানুগ প্রক্রিয়া শেষে স্থানীয় কবরস্থানে দাফন সম্পন্ন করা হবে।
